Psychedelic Journey

I facilitate art therapy with clients undergoing psychedelic assisted therapy. Over the clients’ treatment period, I guide them to make art and share their inner experiences in group. This art was commissioned by a client whose journey I was already familiar with through my art therapy work. The goal was to gather all the insights and symbolism into a coherent art piece that could continue to remind them of their healing journey.

“Mother and Son”

The theme for this commission was Mother and Son. My client wanted something personal on that theme and left it open to me. In this piece, shared roots and intermingled growth illustrates the mother-son relationship, with a bridge connecting to the heart of each life. The different skies that layer through the branches are the days—feelings and experiences that are shared, moved and breathed together. The door represents the world we explore in shared experience, that is different from the world of individual experience.
